Reverend Leroy Sims Jr. is a native of Wedgefield, SC. He is the eldest son of Susan Washington Sims and the late Leroy Sims, Jr. He is a graduate of Hillcrest High School in Sumter, SC. Reverend Leroy Sims is a graduate of the University of South Carolina Sumter campus, where he received his Associates of Science Degree. He is currently pursuing his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Organizational Leadership. He is employed with the University of South Carolina Columbia campus. Reverend Sims is married to Lillian L. Sims and they have two children and one grandchild.

In 2004 after becoming ordained by Bishop Leroy Gathers of the RMUE Church, he served as Pastor of Mt. Sinai RMUE Church in Orangeburg, SC from 2005 – 2007 Reverend Sims served as Pastor of New Zion RMUE Church in North Charleston, SC from 2007 - 2012. He served as the Associate Minister of St. Mark Four Bridges Missionary Baptist Church where the visionary is Pastor Sammie D. Simmons, from 2013 – 2017. Reverend Sims became the Pastor of Broom Hill Baptist Church in August of the year 2017, where he is still currently serving God and his people with passion.

Reverend Sims loves the Lord with all of his heart and pours out this same passionate love to God’s people, young or old. He is a humble, but bold servant for the Lord. One of his favorite scriptures, and he patterns his life by.

It is Psalm 46:10 ~ “Be Still & Know that I am God”.
